Frequently Asked Questions

What is the appointment process?

At your initial appointment, you will be asked to provide a detailed medical history.  Your presenting concern will then be assessed and a  discussion of an appropriate treatment plan will follow.  Treatment can include any combination of techniques, such as soft tissue massage, joint manipulation and stretching to help improve your condition. You may also be recommended exercises to assist in improving your condition. For more information click here

What should I wear for my appointment?

We recommend wearing loose fitting clothing that allows access to the area of your body that may require treatment. You will be asked to dress down so that posture can be properly assessed and for ease of treatment. Usually down to underwear but sports bra, shorts/leggings are absolutely fine. There are plenty of towels available for your convenience and comfort.

What time should I arrive?

We recommend arriving as close as possible to the start time of your appointment. This is because there is no waiting room available and the time prior to your slot is being used to clean down between appointments.

Is Soft Tissue Therapy suitable for everyone?

Soft Tissue Therapy is suitable for adults of all ages and can help a variety of conditions, from general aches and pains to minor sports injuries. However, due to the nature of some techniques, it may not be suitable for those with certain conditions. Please contact us if you have any further questions regarding suitability to treat.

What are the benefits?

Soft Tissue Therapy (manual therapy) can help to reduce pain, improve posture, and restore flexibility and range of motion. It is also a great way to reduce stress, improve relaxation, and promote overall wellbeing.

Will it hurt?

Manual therapy is non-invasive and is designed to reduce your pain and discomfort. The aim is to keep you as comfortable as possible during treatment, but there may be mild discomfort during the assessment and treatment process. Typically, patients can expect mild discomfort in the 24-48 hour period following treatment. This is completely normal and should then ease.

How do I pay for my appointment?
